Aleksandra Radovanović

I’m a psychologist and a constructivist psychotherapist under supervision, which means I am currently working with ongoing mentorship, reflection, and support to deepen and refine my practice.

My work is grounded in the idea that there is no single, objective truth about who we are- only the meanings we create. In constructivist therapy, we view the self not as a fixed identity, but as a rich, evolving story. We carry many versions of ourselves, many truths, many ways of making sense of the world. And when one version no longer fits when it begins to hurt or limit us we can build new ones. This is what psychologist George Kelly called constructive alternativism: the idea that we can always re-author our meaning.

I believe therapy is most powerful when it’s human-to-human, not expert-to-client, which is to say - my approach is deeply relational. I don’t sit behind a blank screen or act like I have the answers. I show up as a real person, and I believe healing happens in the space between people — in dialogue, in resonance, in feeling understood. Together, we build the kind of relationship that makes exploration safe and change possible. That means we meet as equals - as two minds exploring one internal landscape.

At the heart of my work is the concept of a community of selves—the idea that you are composed of many parts, roles, and voices. Some are loud. Some are hidden. Some contradict each other. But each of them carries data, emotion, memory, and truth. I won’t try to simplify you. I’ll help you listen and understand.

By working with the full spectrum of who you are, therapy becomes a space where you can:

  • Understand the inner messages you may have pushed aside or couldn’t make sense of before, including what your body, emotions, and defenses are trying to tell you.

  • Learn to hold all parts of yourself, even the conflicting ones, without shame or fear - and grow your ability to live in complexity.

  • Integrate seemingly opposing parts into a fuller, more grounded sense of self.

  • Create a cohesive narrative about who you are, where you’ve been, and how you want to live.

  • Access your inner resources — creativity, curiosity, strength, and imagination, and use them to navigate difficulties with intention.

  • And ultimately, build a relationship with yourself and others that feels honest, accepting, and alive.

Outside of therapy, I live a very alive life. I’m an athlete, a writer, a gamer, a volunteer in service to underserved communities, and a lifelong learner. I’ve explored identity through queerness, movement, storytelling, and connection. I’ve had my share of internal contradictions and difficult-to-love parts. I’ve made every mistake in the book. Honestly, I still do — but now, I meet them with more dignity, softness, and respect.

Over time, I’ve come to believe that meeting ourselves with curiosity and tolerance brings meaning. That meaning helps us not only heal but also contribute to our lives, relationships, and communities.

This site is an exploration of those aspects of ourselves. I strive to bring that exploration into every session.
